Zona "Molly" Kain was born September 30, 1920 in Percy, Iowa to Wilby and Nettie (Sanders) Cowman.
She attended Swan Schools until about 8th grade, and then went to help on the family farm. On January 4, 1939 she was united in marriage to Orville "Hubby" Kain in Des Moines, Iowa. The couple farmed in the Swan area for many years, before moving into Pleasantville. After Hubby's death, Molly worked for the Pleasantville Schools and then later, Checkerboard Restaurant. Along with her favorite pastime, playing bingo, she also enjoyed fishing and mushroom hunting. She loved animals and always had pets, with her favorites being Susie and Paco. Molly’s greatest joy was her family and although she never had children of her own, she considered Lisa and her children: Andrew, Matthew, Ashley and Zack, to be her own.
Molly passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at her home in Pleasantville at the age of 94 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings: Arlene DeMoss, Maymie Davidson, Floyd Cowman, Ernest Cowman, Leo Cowman, Carl Cowman, Vivian Robuck, Shelly Cowman and Marvin Cowman.
She is survived by her special niece and family, Lisa Firestine (Andrew, Matthew, Ashley and Zack) of Pleasantville, siblings: Beulah Laughlin (Lucky) of Knoxville, Wanda Swayne (Joe) of Knoxville, Donna Visser (Don) of Pella and Shirley Trabert (Brenton) of Knoxville and many other friends and family.
