Wilma Lucinda Geery was born December 27, 1937 in Tracy, Iowa the daughter of John and Anna (Thompson) Angelo.
On December 27, 1953 Wilma was united in marriage to Keith Geery, Sr. Keith was in the service and the couple lived in several locations, including California, Texas, Colorado, Kentucky and Iowa. In later years the couple retired in Colorado Springs and managed an apartment complex. In 1992 Keith passed away and in 2003 Wilma moved to Knoxville.
Wilma enjoyed her home on Rock Island Street, where she moved watch race fans. She also liked science fiction movies and books. Wilma was well known for her cooking skills, especially fried chicken. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Wilma passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014 at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital at the age of 76 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Sheila, husband, Keith and granddaughter, Kelly.
Those left to honor her memory include her children: Keith Geery, Jr. of Knoxville; Robert (Shelia) Geery of Dixon, TN; Everett (Beate) Geery of Fountain, CO; David (Chris) Geery of Seattle, WA; Ron (Lora) Geery of Milo and Anna (George) Shores of Knoxville; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings: Doris Freeman, Paul Angelo, Louise McKinney and Eileen Chrispen and many other family members and friends.
Wilma has been cremated and memorial services will be held on Sunday, April 13 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bybee & Davis Funeral Home.
