Wilma Jene Crone was born September 17, 1912 in Marion County, Iowa the daughter of William and Stella (Cass) Nutter.
She was raised in the Swan area and attended school there. She had worked at the Knoxville Hospital, Continental Overall Factory and 10X as a young woman. In 1934 she was united in marriage to Leon Crone. The couple lived most of their lives in Nutterville. Wilma always grew a large vegetable garden and had several fruit trees on the property, so she and Leon operated a produce stand at their home along highway 5 for years. She was also an excellent seamstress and was equally talented in kitchen where she was well known for her delicious meals and desserts. Above all else, Wilma was a very devout Christian and her church met in she and Leon’s home for many years.
Wilma passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Care Center, in Indianola, at the age 103 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leon; son, Kenneth and 6 siblings.
Wilma is survived by her daughter, Kathi Dullard of Des Moines; 4 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
