Viola "Bea" Waters
March 4, 1933 — May 28, 2019
Viola Berniece Waters was born March 4, 1933 in Hamilton, Iowa the daughter of Glenn and Sylvia (Godfrey) Mefford.
On September 12, 1952 Bea was united in marriage to Robert William Waters at the Methodist Parsonage in Lovilia. The couple worked at movie theaters for a few years, with Bea working concessions and Bob as projectionist. When Bob started his plumbing business, Bea would coordinate and schedule the appointments. In later years Bea also cleaned the Woodland Apartments.
Bea passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at the Cottages, in Pella, at the age of 86 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tom Mefford and her husband, Bob.
Those left to cherish Bea’s memory include her daughter, Denise (Dennis) Deaver; 2 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Hilda Glenna Gist; sister-in-law, Rosemary Ostby and many other family members and friends.
A Funeral Service for Viola “Bea” Waters, age 86 of Knoxville, will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bybee & Davis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to WesleyLife Hospice or to the Cottages of Pella.
