Vickie Lynn Allison-Vold was born July 14, 1957 in Lake Charles, Louisiana the daughter of Richard L. Allison and Evelyn Mae (Johnson) Allison.
She lived in many different locations as a child, due to the fact that her father was in the military. During her sophomore year, Vickie’s family moved to Pleasantville, Iowa. She graduated from Pleasantville High School and later married. Through the years, Vickie lived in Pleasantville, Oskaloosa and Dyersville, Iowa. She worked at Pella Corp. for 22 years, operating a ripsaw, until health issues forced her to retire. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening.
Vickie passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the Taylor House, in Des Moines, after a long battle with cancer, at the age of 56 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Alfred Allison.
She is survived by her husband, Brian Vold of Dyersville, Iowa; children: Zachary, Tonya and Andrew Clark all of Pleasantville; step-son, Jacob Vold of Dyersville, Iowa; step-daughter, Amanda Vold of Fargo, North Dakota; siblings: David (Mary Ann) Allison of Colorado Springs, CO, Donna Allison of Pleasantville, Iowa, Karl (Beth) Allison of Chatham, VA and Steven (Melody) Allison of Melcher, Iowa; 3 grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
Vickie has been cremated; family and friends will gather at the Mason Funeral Home, in Pleasantville, Iowa, on Friday, January 31 at 1:00 p.m. for a brief time of sharing and will then process to the Pleasantville Cemetery for a committal service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital. Danielle Bertrand will officiate at the committal.
