Thomas Charles Wise passed away at his home in Forsyth, Missouri, on November 27th. Tom was born at his grandparents’ home in Melcher, Iowa on June 24th, 1939. He was the son of Oren Wise and Irene Galvin.
Tom was raised in Beech, Iowa by his grandparents Emmet and Beulah Galvin. He attended schools in Beech and Pleasantville, Iowa. He had worked for Safeway and American Institute of Business in Des Moines, Iowa.
Tom enjoyed his motorcycle, square dancing and volunteering with the Lions Club and Boy Scouts. He married Vonda and the had two sons Terry and Michael. He later married Vera Huston and raised her children: Chuck, Kaye, Kevin, Jamie and Holly. Tom and Vera adopted Garrett. Tom also provided a home for his granddaughters Chelsey and Talia.
Tom lived in Des Moines and Pleasantville for several years. Tom retired to raise Garrett and then moved to Forsyth.
Tom was in very poor health for several years, but wanted only to live to see Garrett earn his Eagle Scout and graduate from high school and Tom saw both.
Tom was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother Skippy, and Jamie and Holly. Tom is survived by his children Terry, Mike Wise of Des Moines, Iowa and Garrett Wise, still at home. He is also survived by
Chuck Cartwright and Micky of Mt. Shasta, California; Kevin Cartwright and Sarah of Des Moines, and Kaye Jones and Mike of Martinsville, Indiana. Grandchildren Anna, Robbie, Rebekah, Elizabeth, and Ben Cartwright; Talia and Cody Jones; and Chelsey Myers. He is also survived by his great-children Cody Jones Jr. and Olivia Jones. He is survived by his siblings, Bruce Wise of Des Moines, Brenda Wise of Des Moines, and Pam Williamson of Evansville, Indiana.
