Steven Harold Wright was born November 23, 1959 in Des Moines, Iowa the son of Harold and Norma (Lathrop) Wright.

He was raised in Des Moines and attended Johnston schools. Steve then served in the United States Marine Corps. He was stationed in Paris Island, South Carolina and in Germany prior to his honorable discharge. Steve was a butcher by trade and was Federal Meat Inspector and had owned Hometown Meats in Knoxville, Iowa. He was married to Becky Honeck on June 19, 1979 and the couple had many wonderful years together until her passing in 2016. On March 21, 2024 Steve was united in marriage to Latisha Cochran.

In his spare time, Steve enjoyed being outside, especially hunting, fishing, and gardening. He also liked his bikes and riding. Steve was a handy person, and worked on his vehicles and houses. Pets were also important to Steve, including dogs, mini horses and his pig. Most importantly, Steve loved his family and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Steve passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at his home, in Keswick, Iowa, at the age of 65 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Becky; brother, Donald Wright; aunts and uncles: Tammy Lathrop, Cheryl Lathrop, Harold Lathrop and Kenny Hoversten and sister-in-law, Amy Wright.

Those left to honor Steve’s memory include his wife, Latisha; children: Marton (Samantha) Wright of Colfax, Steven (Jessica) Wright of Chariton, Jerusha (Steve) Provost of Decatur and Elijah Wright and Emma Cochran, both of Keswick; son-in-law, Aaron Claver; 11 grandchildren; siblings: Mike Wright, Rob (Christina) Wright and Terry Wright; sisters-in-law: Maryls Gaston and Stormy Wright; niece and nephew, Hollie and Clay Fischer and many other family members and friends.



Steve has been cremated and services will be announced at a later date.
