Shirley Carolyn Zeck was born March 17, 1939 in Knoxville, Iowa the daughter of Gilford Trude Gilliland and Letha Ellen (Thompson) Gilliland.
Carolyn graduated from Knoxville High School and then lived in Indianola for a brief time. On December 24, 1970 she was united in marriage to Ralph Zeck. The couple made their home in Melcher-Dallas until moving to Knoxville 5 months ago. Prior to retirement, Carolyn worked for the Al Crouch Law Firm for many years and briefly at 3M. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and then canning the harvest. Carolyn’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.
Carolyn passed away on Friday, September 18, 2015 at her home, in Knoxville, at the age of 76 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Ellen and Rhonda; son, Kevin; granddaughter, Kami; uncles, Jay and Leonard; sister, Paula Faye and grandmother, Becky.
Those left to cherish Carolyn’s memory include her husband, Ralph; daughter, Fayetta (Dave) Cooper of Redfield, Iowa; brothers: James Gilliland of Oregon and David (Lori) Gilliland of Arizona; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter and many other family members and friends.
A Memorial Service for Carolyn Zeck, age 76 of Knoxville, will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at the Apostolic Church at 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be left at BertrandFuneralHomes.com.
