Roger Alan Hanawalt

Roger Alan Hanawalt was born May 1, 1974 in Knoxville, Iowa the son of Robert Junior Hanawalt, Sr. and Shirley Evonne (Shilling) Hanawalt.
Roger was a lifelong resident of Knoxville. He has worked for Skunk River Block and Pallet, in Pella, for over 25 years. Roger enjoyed attending the Knoxville Races and fishing. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his children.
Roger passed away Friday, November 5, 2021 at Mercy One, in Des Moines, at the age of 47 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert; maternal and paternal grandparents: Herman and Christena Shilling and George and Neva Hanawalt and cousins: Jodie Christy, and Wanda Ore; his uncle, Ronnie Shilling and mother-in-law, Doris Osborn.
Those left to mourn Roger’s passing include his wife, Darlene; children: Austin, Dalton and Christina; mother, Shirley Hanawalt; brother, Bobby Hanawalt; father-in-law, Dale Osborn and many other family members and friends.



Funeral Services for Roger Hanawalt, age 47 of Knoxville, will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at the Bybee & Davis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date.
