Robert Dale Mccullough

Robert Dale McCullough was born October 22, 1938 in Melcher, Iowa the son of Millard and Opal (Kizser) McCullough.
Bob graduated from Melcher High School with the Class of 1957. Following high school, Bob worked for Bingham Feed & Grain. In 1959 Bob started working for Firestone in Des Moines. On September 29, 1961 Bob was united in marriage to Barbara Nicholson. Shortly after their marriage, Bob was inducted into the United States Army. He served two years before his honorable discharge in 1963. In 1985 Bob retired from Firestone and opened a Golden Sun Feed Store and a small hardware business in Pleasantville. He later worked for 3M in Knoxville as a security guard and then for ChemTech in Pleasantville in shipping and receiving.
Bob loved farming and had raised hogs and Charolais Cattle. He and Barb also enjoyed riding horses and family get togethers. Bob liked mowing and keeping his yard meticulous. His greatest joy was attending his granddaughters’ horse shows, swim meets and other activities.
Bob passed away Friday, August 9, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Center, in Indianola, at the age of 80 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Ruth, Marg, Darlene, Jr., Norma, Keith, Donald, Betty and John.
Those left to honor Bob’s memory include his wife, Barbara; son, Scott (Michelle) McCullough of Knoxville; granddaughters: Hunter Amrie and Sierra Jo; brother, Jerry (Linda) McCullough of Bondurant and many other family members and friends.
A Memorial Service for Bob McCullough, age 80 of Pleasantville, will be held on Saturday, August 17 at Mason Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Croix Hospice of Ankeny, Iowa.
