Richard Lee Postma
June 23, 1939 — January 3, 2021
Richard Lee Postma was born June 23, 1939 in Rock Valley, Iowa the son of Richard and Cornelia (Vande Vegte) Postma.
He was raised in Rock Valley and graduated from Western Christian High School in Hull, Iowa. Richard moved to Knoxville and worked for the local CO-OP before taking a job at Westberg’s Implement. He worked at the implement dealer for 46 years prior to retirement. Richard was a member of the First Reformed Church in Knoxville and then Celebrate Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan.
Richard passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021 at West Ridge Nursing & Rehab at the age of 81 years.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his siblings: Gerrit, Henrietta, Martin, Margaret, Lawrence, Marian, Bonnie and Shirley.
Survivors include Richard’s children: Richard Todd Postma of Knoxville, Tracey (Richard) Hall and their family, Brandon (26 of Seattle, WA), Caleb (20) and Dillon (15) of Knoxville and Dr. Michele Postma (Derrick Cantrell) and their family, Taylor (13) and Riley (10) of Hoover, Alabama; siblings: Clarence (Laura) Postma of Orange City, Iowa, Carol Postma of San Bernardino, California, Stanley (Sharon) Postma of Canby, Oregon, Robert (Sheri) Postma of Knoxville and Don (Lois) Postma of Rock Valley, Iowa and many other family members and friends.
An open visitation for Richard Lee Postma, age 81 of Knoxville, will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Thursday, January 7, 2020 at the Bybee & Davis Funeral Home. Private burial will take place in Breckenridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Suncrest Hospice.
