Rhonda Jill Hanna was born August 3, 1961 in Oskaloosa, Iowa the daughter of Paul and Donna (Livezey) Hanna.
She was raised in the New Sharon, Iowa area and graduated from North Mahaska High School. Some of Rhonda’s first jobs included baby sitting and working at Boomsma Egg Farm and the A&W. She later became a C.N.A., working at various local health care agencies until she was forced to retire from Wesley Life due to health concerns.
In her spare time, Rhonda enjoyed sprint car racing, camping, or just being outside enjoying nature. Shopping with her two best friends, Shanna and Jean was something Rhonda always looked forward to. She also found joy in helping people, which is part of what made her a great C.N.A. Rhonda’s greatest joy was her family; she loved their family events and especially took pride in her grandsons.
Rhonda passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023 at the Serenity House, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, at the age of 62 years.
She was preceded in death by her father, Paul; brother, Roger Lee Hanna and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Those left to cherish Rhonda’s memory include her daughter, Brittany (Shane) Schone of Harvey; grandsons: Dayton, Maddux and Wyatt; mother, Donna Hanna of Pella; brother, Rick (Rhonda) Hanna; niece, Jen (Shawn) Veenstra and their son, Lincoln; nephew, Rick Lee (Crystal) Hanna and their daughter, Ivy and many other family members and friends.
A Memorial Visitation for Rhonda Hanna, age 62 of Pella, will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bybee & Davis Funeral Home in Knoxville. Memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date.
