Phyllis Marie Williams

Phyllis Marie Williams was born December 6, 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa the daughter of Francis Marion Kennedy and Virginia Victory (Baldwin) Kennedy.
She was raised in the Knoxville and Des Moines areas and graduated from Des Moines Tech. Phyllis worked at the Knoxville V.A., the V.F.W. and E.D.S. Her favorite job was Alco, she was a manager there for several years. In 1979 she was united in marriage to Mike Williams. The couple lived in Pershing until moving to Oskaloosa 7 years ago. In her spare time, Phyllis enjoyed watching soap operas, playing cards and laughing with family and friends. She was a joyous person who never met a stranger. In fact, she and Mike had many “adopted” children and grandchildren. Phyllis was always available to help or offer advice whether it was to a family member, friend or stranger.
Phyllis passed away on Monday, August 18, 2014 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, in Des Moines, at the age of 65 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Marion and her sister, Pam.
Those left to mourn Phyllis’ passing include her husband, Mike; children: Christina Liebsch, Brandi Sampson, Amanda Hackett, Aaron Williams and Meagan Long; grandchildren: Chanda Ji, Sami Jo, Santina, Lindsey, Taylor, Mackenzie, Courtney, Devin, Ryley, Alyna, Jocelyn, Eli, Kaylee and Logan; 3 great-grandchildren; siblings: Tony Arnold, Butch Kennedy, Mike Kennedy, Calvin Stout and Terry Phipps and many other family members and friends.
