Paul Matthew “Zeke” Gasparovich, Jr. was born October 17, 1945 in Marion County, Iowa the son of Paul Matthew Gasparovich and Josephine Elizabeth “Jo” (Connell) Gasparovich.
He was raised in Melcher-Dallas, Iowa and graduated from Melcher-Dallas High School. Following high school, Zeke was drafted into the United States Army during Vietnam. Zeke worked construction most of his life, primarily highway construction. He ran pavers all over the United States. On February 28, 1981 Zeke was united in marriage to Letha Ellen Boers. They resided in Pleasantville and raised two children, Shantyl and P.J.
In his spare time, Zeke was a collector of many different things and enjoyed restoring tractors. He kept his mind sharp by doing jigsaw puzzles, and playing scrabble and words with friends. He especially enjoyed socializing with his many friends and family.
Zeke passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, in Des Moines, at the age of 73 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Letha and sister, Linda Sakellaris.
Those left to honor Zeke’s memory include his children: Shantyl-Lee and P.J. (Christy); grandchildren: Paul, Maggie and Matthew; siblings: Steve (Kim) Gasparovich and Sally Randolph; nephew Christiaan (Kim) Nielson and many other family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life for Paul “Zeke” Gasparovich, age 73 of Pleasantville, will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at The Other Side, in Melcher-Dallas, at 1:00 p.m. Military Honors will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Legion Dallcher Post No. 632.
