Pandia Lou Bender

Pandia Lou Bender was born May 8, 1946 in Des Moines, Iowa the daughter of Gerald and Dortha (Sites) Freeman.
She was raised in the Des Moines area. On March 11, 1967 Pandia was united in marriage to Jerry E. Bender, Sr. The couple lived in Des Moines before moving to Swan where they lived many years. In later years they lived in Branson, Missouri before moving to Sandyville 4 years ago.
In her spare time, Pandia enjoyed bingo, bowling, playing cards and game shows. She and Jerry also liked fishing and casino trips. Her great joy was her family get togethers. She was also the family historian and caretaker of all birthdays and important dates.
Pandia passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023 at the Comfort House, in Pella, at the age of 77 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Gerald, Jr. and Randy and brothers-in-law: Bob Howe, Bob Bostwick, Duane Gillum and Dale Terrell.
Those left to cherish Pandia’s memory include her husband, Jerry Bender, Sr.; son, Jerry, Jr. “Jeb” (Mandi) Bender; grandchildren: Chloe Alina and Chance Andrey Bender; siblings: Wally (Wanda) Freeman, Elvira Howe, Marjorie (Bruce) Kelley, twin sister, Sue Bostwick, Rhonda (Joe) Casazza, Dortha Gillum, Rod (Angie) Freeman, Rick (Amy) Freeman, Doreen Freeman and Tim (Holly) Freeman and many other family members and friends.
A Memorial Service for Pandia Bender, age 77 of Sandyville, will be held Monday, October 9, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Mason Funeral Home in Pleasantville. Burial will follow in the Sandyville Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Pella or to the family.
