Nolan Michael Roff was born September 24, 2002 in Pella, Iowa the son of Thomas and Marcy (Potts) Roff.
Nolan was a 10th grade student in Pleasantville Community Schools. He was active in wrestling, baseball and track. Nolan liked to be outdoors, especially hunting, trapping and fishing. He enjoyed working, especially manual labor that got him outside. Nolan would also tear things apart to see how they worked or to repurpose an item. Such as building his own taser and fireworks igniting system. He was the kind of Renaissance man, that like 70’s music, 80’s movies and 1920’s technology. Above all else he loved his family, especially coaching his brother, Logan.
Nolan passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at his home at the age of 16 years.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Deb Potts.
Those left to cherish Nolan’s memory include his parents, Tom and Marcy Roff and brother, Logan of Pleasantville; grandparents: Jocelyn Richards of Pleasantville, Rodney and Anita Roff of Knoxville and Mike Potts of Leon; great-grandmother, Doris Potts of Des Moines; many aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members and friends.
A Memorial Service for Nolan Roff, age 16 of Pleasantville, will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019 at the Celebrate Church at 4:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. prior to the service. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, a memorial fund has been established in Nolan’s name.
