Nancy Annette Stanton
January 22, 1950 — January 14, 2023
Nancy Annette Stanton was born January 22, 1950 in Knoxville, Iowa the daughter of Don W. and Janice (Blackman) Agan.
She was raised in the Columbia, Iowa area and graduated from Knoxville High School. In 1968 Nancy was united in marriage to William Craig Stanton. The couple made their home in Knoxville. Nancy worked as an operator for Contel for several years until they closed the Knoxville office. She then worked at the Knoxville V.A. Medical Center as a purchasing agent until retiring in January of 2012.
In her spare time, Nancy enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, particularly basketball. She loved her dogs and above all else she cherished her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren and sisters.
Nancy passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the Comfort House, in Pella, at the age of 72 years.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Janice Stanton, father Don W. Agan, father-in-law, Rex Stanton and her husband, Craig Stanton.
Those left to cherish Nancy’s memory include her children: Rod (Sandra) Stanton of Knoxville and Jennifer (Dan) Clarke of Monroe; grandchildren: Chelsea Stanton (Jeb Rach), Alex (Christina) Stanton, Mackenzie (Dannon) Lanphier, Delaney Clarke and Lachlan Clarke; great-grandchildren: Eleanor Stanton, Russell Stanton and Brixton Lanphier; sisters: Jeanetta (James) Boughn and Debbie Rowley; half-sister, Diana Agan and many other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date.
