Monty Dyer

Lamont Joseph “Monty” Dyer was born October 18, 1956 in Knoxville, Iowa the son of Ralph and Donna (Fee) Dyer.
Monty was raised in Pleasantville and graduated with the class of 1975. On January 24, 1975 he was united in marriage to Shirley Gordon. As a young man, Monty worked for Wagner Plumbing & Heating. In 1980 he joined the Iowa Air National Guard. Monty faithfully served his country until retiring in 2002. He was a Technical Sergeant and served as a supervisor in munitions.
Monty passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, in Des Moines, at the age of 64 years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna.
Those left to honor Monty’s memory include his wife, Shirley; children: Jason (Kristin) Dyer and their son, Jensen of Indianola and Amanda (Luke) Fitzpatrick and her children, Kaydin and Beka Dyer of Pleasantville; father, Ralph Dyer of Pleasantville; brother, Timothy (Rhonda) Dyer of Round Rock, Texas and many other family members and friends.
Monty has been cremated and no services are planned at this time. Memorials may be made to American Legion of Iowa (IALegion.org).
