Marjorie Elaine (Sparks) Quigley was born March 16, 1939, to Gifford G. and Mary E. (Trimble) Sparks in Ottumwa, Iowa. After graduation from Eddyville High School in Eddyville, Iowa, she went on to graduate from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Ottumwa and became a Registered Nurse (RN).

She married Robert N. Quigley on November 6, 1964, and the couple made their home in Knoxville, Iowa. Their family was completed with two children, Robert P. and Debra D. In 1984, they relocated to Long Beach, Mississippi for 11 years. Marjorie loved living on the Gulf Coast and driving Highway 90 next to the ocean and beaches. She worked as a RN at the Veteran’s Administration (VA) in Knoxville and later at the VA in Gulfport, Mississippi, until her retirement. After retiring, the couple returned to Iowa, settling in Ottumwa. After Robert’s passing, Marjorie moved to Jacksonville, Florida, with her daughter and son-in-law. She spent her days doing crafts, games, and other activities with her friends at the Oceanway Senior Center in Jacksonville.

Marjorie enjoyed baking, candy making, crocheting, traveling and NASCAR.

Marjorie went to be with her Lord in Heaven on Saturday, July 13, 2024.

Marjorie is proceeded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her son Robert P. and daughter and son-in-law Debra (Billy) Duffield, two grandchildren, Ashley Thames and William (Billy) Saucier, great grand-daughter Olivia Anne, sister Shirley E. Murry, and nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Marjorie wished to be cremated and did not want a service. Her family and friends are planning a Celebration of Life dinner a later date at the Davis Street Christian Church in Ottumwa. Online condolences may be left at www.BertrandFuneralHomes.com .
