Marjorie Jean Johnson was born December 9, 1927 in Osceola, Nebraska the daughter of Roy C. Johnson and Nellie (Le Suer) Johnson.
She graduated from Osceola High School and on June 9, 1946 Marjorie was united in marriage to Mervin Leonard Johnson at the St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Osceola. She was a housewife on a farm near Swede Home, Nebraska where three sons were born. Her husband began working for Hoak Construction and they moved as his job dictated. Their fourth son was born in Colorado. In the late 1960’s Marjorie and Mervin moved to Indianola, Iowa. Marjorie was a cook for Simpson College in Indianola for over 15 years. She also helped with meals on wheels for many years. She was also an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Indianola. In 1997 the couple moved to Sac City, Iowa. Mervin passed away on November 19, 2015. Most recently, Marjorie had been a resident of Pleasant Care in Pleasantville, Iowa.
Marjorie and Mervin loved to travel. They had visited most of the United States and had taken many cruises. The couple also drove their motorhome to Texas every winter for 17 years.
Marjorie passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Pleasant Care Living Center, in Pleasantville, Iowa, at the age of 88 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Richard and Robert and her husband, Mervin.
Those left to cherish Marjorie’s memory include her children: Jerome Mervin Johnson and wife, Debra of Indianola, Iowa, Michael Ray Johnson and wife Barbara of Sac City, Iowa, Roderick Lee Johnson of Hinton, Oklahoma and Kevin Leonard Johnson and wife Christy of Pleasant Hill, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; three sisters: Patricia, Nancy and Mary; two brothers: Roy, Jr. and Ronald and many other family members and friends.

Memorials may be made to the Calvary Lutheran Church in Stromsburg, Nebraska or to the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Indianola, Iowa.
