Mariann Stubbs
February 6, 1932 — April 7, 2023
Mariann Stubbs was born February 6, 1932 in Pleasantville, Iowa the daughter of Thomas J. and Ruby (Galvin) Richards.
Mariann graduated from Pleasantville High School with the Class of 1949. On September 24, 1949 she was united in marriage to Robert Stubbs and the couple made their home in Pleasantville. Mariann worked as the secretary to the superintendent of Pleasantville Schools from 1964 until her retirement in 2000. She also worked at Stubbs Propane from 2000 to 2010.
In her spare time, Mariann enjoyed attending her grandkids school events and spending time with all her family. She also faithfully attended the Pleasantville Christian Church. Her excellent cooking skills were appreciated by family and friends alike. Mariann also liked to spoil her dogs.
Mariann passed away Friday, April 7, 2023 at her home, in Pleasantville, at the age of 91 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob in 1978; son, Joe and siblings: Jack, Otis, Hoot, Bonnie Vrban, Joanna McRae, Margaret Bane and Carolyn Hull.
Those left to cherish Mariann’s memory include her children: Deb (Dan) Krichau, Brian (Rhonda) Stubbs and Val (Kevin) Furnal; brother Jerry (Judy) Richards; 15 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren a host of other family members and friends.
A Funeral Service for Mariann Stubbs, age 91 of Pleasantville, will be held Monday, April 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pleasantville Christian Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Pleasantville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Pleasantville Christian Church.
