Margaret Eloise Lowe was born October 2, 1922 in Corydon, Iowa the daughter of Charles and Estelline (Cowan) Dyer.
She was raised in the Corydon area and on December 7, 1941 Margaret was united in marriage to Max Eugene Lowe in Princeton, Missouri. The couple made their home in Chariton for many years and settled in Pleasantville in 1957. Margaret was a homemaker and babysat for years. She also worked in the Pleasantville school cafeteria.
Margaret was famous for her homemade lemonade and cinnamon rolls. She was mom and grandma to many friends of her children and grandchildren. They loved to stop at the home and visit Margaret and enjoy some lemonade. She was also a Hawkeye fan and she loved music. The most important thing in Margaret’s life was her family and she always put them first.
Margaret passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020 at the Knoxville Hospital & Clinics at the age of 97 years.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Max; daughter, Marilyn Dunkel; son, Ron Lowe; great-grandson, Cole Smith and her siblings: Maurine, Virginia, Clyde, Phyllis, Joyce and Maureta.
Those left to cherish Margaret’s memory include her children: Jean Odom of Grimes, Roger and wife Peggy of Des Moines and Dean and wife Mary of Indianola; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; brother, Gerald Dyer of Corydon; daughter-in-law, Yvonne Lowe of Boulder, Montana and many other family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life for Margaret Lowe, age 97 of Pleasantville, will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at the Pleasantville Senior Center from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Burial will be in Pleasantville Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pleasantville Senior Center.
