Lulabel Irene Carter
February 17, 1941 — September 23, 2022
Lulabel Irene Carter was born February 17, 1941 in Moulton, Iowa the daughter of Fountain D. and Gertrude (Bogle) McCullough.
As a girl, Lulabel’s family moved to Knoxville, Iowa where she graduated with the Class of 1958. Through the years, Lulabel had worked at Heilman’s, Meredith, the Lucas State Office Building and J.B.’s Steakhouse. In her spare time, Lulabel enjoyed driving anywhere, eating out, gardening and listening to Elvis Pressley. Her greatest joy in life was family and she especially cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lulabel passed away Friday, September 23, 2022 at the Comfort House, in Pella, at the age of 81 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Diane VanEssen and Roy McCullough and her great-niece, Kayla Boner.
Those left to cherish Lulabel’s memory include her son, James “Beaner” Urias; grandchildren: Heather Jo Hennefeld, Justin Urias, Aaron Urias, Ashlee Thomas, Ethan Urias and Emily Urias; great-grandchildren: Ava Jo, Isaac, Zaylynn, Macie, Christian, Caisen, Ryken, Auttumn, Alayna, Aubree, Lilly, Jasmine, Juliana, Olivia and Abel; step-grandchildren: Dylan Showers and Allyson Sedlock; nieces: Dana Boner, Amanda Burg and Shannon McCullough; nephew, Sean McCullough and many other family members and friends.
Memorials may be made to the family. Lulabel has been cremated and burial will be in Bethel Cemetery at a later date.
