Larry Eugene Clinkenbeard

Larry Eugene Clinkenbeard was born March 1, 1950 in Unionville, Missouri the son of Oscar and Thelma (West) Clinkenbeard.
Larry was raised in the Prairie City, Iowa area and attended school there. As a young man, Larry worked in the home construction business. In 1980, Larry moved to Pleasantville, where he eventually founded his own company, Clinkenbeard Roofing. On March 14, 1998 Larry was united in marriage to Margaret Brown in Pleasantville, Iowa. Larry would spend over 30 years as a roofing contractor until his health forced him to retire.
In his spare time, Larry enjoyed sprint car and NASCAR racing, hunting mushrooms and trapping. He also loved to grill and visit with family and friends. Larry's greatest joy was being with his family, and he especially enjoyed date night with his wife.
Larry passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at his home, in Pleasantville, Iowa, at the age of 66 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gary.
Those left to cherish Larry’s memory include his wife, Margaret; children: Donald Clinkenbeard, Michelle (David) Willoughby and Sara Lee Clinkenbeard; step-children: Suzette (Troy) Fraser, Sheryl (Jason) Patton, Annette Lakin and Jessica Prunty; sister, Brenda (Mark) Smith; nieces and nephews: Aaron Clinkenbeard, Christina Van Vark, Jamie Clinkenbeard, Tara (Joe) Diemer and Bryan (Toni) Smith; 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
A Memorial Service for Larry Clinkenbeard, age 66 of Pleasantville, will be held on Wednesday, August 17 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church at 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Pleasantville Little League or to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
