Kevin Dewitt Rees

Kevin Dewitt Rees was born September 26, 1975 in Knoxville, Iowa the son of James L. and Barbara G. (Messamaker) Rees.
Kevin was raised in Pleasantville, Iowa and graduated with the Class of 1994. During high school he played football and wrestled. On June 2, 1996 he was united in marriage to Yetska Roff. To this union two children, Kyle and Kaylee, were born. Kevin had worked at Knoxville Farm & Home as the Stihl Department Manager, earning a Silver Certification. Most recently he was employed by Cascade Manufacturing, in Pleasantville, as a supervisor.
Kevin enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, camping and boating. He was an avid Hawkeye and Packers fan. Kevin had also been a proud member of the Pleasantville Fire Department. He was a social person who never met a stranger and always made new friends. Many of his conversations turned into a healthy debate, which Kevin thoroughly enjoyed. His greatest pride and joy were his children, and he was a loving and devoted father.
Kevin passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center, in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 42 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Jim and his grandparents.
Those left to cherish Kevin’s memory include his children Kyle and Kaylee Rees; mother, Barbara Rees; siblings: Shelly (Don) Peffers, Clint (Steph) Rees and Aaron Rees; nieces and nephews: Kris (Nicole) Peffers, Tyler (Emma) Peffers, Hayden Rees and Ashley Bradshaw; great-niece, Ellie Peffers and many other family members and friends.
The family of Kevin Rees invites friends to share memories of Kevin on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the Pleasantville Memorial Hall at 2:00 p.m. Kevin has been cremated and a private graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family to be designated later.
