June Marie Demoss
June 7, 1935 — October 8, 2022
June Marie DeMoss was born June 7, 1935 in Collinsville, Illinois the daughter of Henry Martin and Iva G. (Smith) Johann.
She was raised in Illinois until her family moved to Knoxville, Iowa during her teenage years. On February 9, 1952 June was united in marriage to Robert L. DeMoss. To this union five children were born. In addition to being a homemaker, June had worked for Avery’s Hardware, Royal Pastry Shop, Coast to Coast Hardware and Schmaltz’s Pharmacy.
In her spare time, June enjoyed knitting, crocheting, making afghans and cross stitching. She had made hundreds of items for family and friends through the years. Her family especially cherishes the cross stitched Christmas stockings she created. June also liked to sing and play the piano. She sang in her church choir and with the Knoxville Community Chorus.
June passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022 at the West Ridge Nursing Center at the age of 87 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dale; daughter, Robin Roush and brother, Norman.
Those left to cherish June’s memory include her husband, Bob; children: Judy (Les) Spaur, Sheila (Mike) Burgess and Rex (Chris) DeMoss; son-in-law, Bob Roush; many grand, great and great-great grandchildren and other family members and friends.
