Joyce Louise Lockey
October 12, 1937 — August 29, 2020
Joyce Louise Lockey (White), 82, of Swan, Iowa passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Carlisle surrounded by her family on August 29, 2020. Joyce was born in Decorah, Iowa on October 12, 1937, the second of seven children.
Joyce retired from Diamond Animal Health, Inc. after 18 years of service. Her passion was painting and spending time with her family. She enjoyed gospel music, sewing, embroidering, upholstery, gardening and traveling. She hosted many family events and holidays at her home. Joyce’s loving soul and generous heart is going to be missed by those who knew her.
Joyce is survived by her four children; Peggy Betterley (Rich) of Ankeny; Mike Lockey (Tracy) of Hannibal, MO; Julie Cox of Carlisle; Brenda Johnson (Ron) of Pleasantville; nine grandchildren; Jason Cox; Brandon Lockey (Jen); Stephanie Wild (Bobby Lange); Shelley Bingham (Derrik); Nick Cox (Chrissy); Brandy Cox (Andi); Erika Perkins (Scott) Melissa Farrell; Nicole Jones (Geoff); twenty three great grandchildren; step-brother Jim White of Marshalltown and step-sister Judy Learn of Nausha and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Dale; parents; Harry White of Swan; Agnes White (O’Brien) of Charles City; and four siblings; Rosie, Gary, Larry, and Bill and son-in-law Dennis Cox.
A visitation will be held on September 2 at 1:00 at the Mason Funeral Home in Pleasantville, Iowa with the funeral service to follow at 2:00.
Joyce will be buried in the Swan Cemetery following the service.
