Joni Lea Isley was born February 28, 1966 in Knoxville, Iowa the daughter of Robert and Rita Kay (Toigo) Bates.
She graduated from Twin Cedars High School with the Class of 1984. On July 21, 1984 Joni was united in marriage to William Isley. To this union three children were born: Joshua, Shawn and Sarah. They have made Knoxville their home most all of their married life.
Joni was a loving mother and a devout Christian. She had an artistic side and loved to paint. Joni also enjoyed nature, especially hummingbirds, butterflies and astronomy. She was always ready to watch a lifetime movie in her spare time. Above everything else in her life, Joni cherished her family and was a dedicated wife and mother.
Joni passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Knoxville Hospital & Clinics at the age of 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert Bates.
Those left to honor Joni’s memory include her husband, William; children: Joshua of Knoxville, Shawn of Indianola and Sarah Werder of Knoxville; siblings: Janet Pregon of Knoxville, Richard Bates of Newton and Judy Vermeer of Hot Springs, Arkansas and many other family members and friends.
Funeral services for Joni Isley, age 50 of Knoxville, will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the Bybee & Davis Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Bybee & Davis Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family.
