John Lucas Dingeman

John Lucas Dingeman was born October 19, 1998 in Kearney, Nebraska the son of John Paul and Dana (Carr) Dingeman.
He was raised in Des Moines, Iowa until his family moved to Pella, Iowa at the age of 5. John was an outdoorsman and worked in concrete and landscaping businesses and drove a dozer while living in Tennessee. On July 5, 2020 he was united in marriage to Emily Silence. The couple has a daughter, Josie Iris Mae and another child due.
In his spare time, John enjoyed fishing and nature. He was passionate about music and could play the drums and guitar and he also sang. John also had a love of the ocean and aquariums prompting him to get an underwater tattoo. John was a very mechanical person; he could work on cars or just about anything else. He was known as a “jack of all trades, and a master of none” and he was always willing to help family and friends with a project.
John passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023, from injuries sustained in an auto accident, at the age of 24 years.
Those left to cherish John’s memory include his wife, Emily; daughter, Josie Iris Mae and a child yet born; parents: John (Krista) Dingeman of Cleveland, TN, and Dana (Jeromy) Dingeman of Pella; parents-in-law: Earl & Jo De Vries of Little Sioux, Iowa; siblings: Britt (Melinda) Carr and their children: Dustin, Liam and Konnor of Red Cloud, Nebraska, Tanja (Michael) Sears and their child, Eloise of Toledo, Iowa, Maizie, Maelynn and Mira; step-siblings: Breanna Banner and Alana Edwards; grandparents: Pete & Ruth Carr of Burke, South Dakota, John & Earleen Dingeman of Des Moines; Clarke & Pam Holmes, Dan Dingeman, and Mary Van Berkum and many other family members and friends.
A funeral service for John Dingeman, age 24 of Des Moines, will be held Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Bybee & Davis Funeral Home in Knoxville. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
