Joe Ann Breese was born March 17, 1937 in Patterson, Iowa and grew up in Conger, Iowa the daughter of Henry W. and Kathryn M. (Cook) Cooper.
Joe Ann knew the love of family and extended brothers and sisters. She touched the lives of many, traveling and living in numerous areas before moving to Attica in 1973. Joe Ann enjoyed farming at Forest Grove Farms and was recognized for her farm work by the Des Moines Register. In the off season she showed her passion of cooking working at Pella Regional Hospital for 12 years as a cook there.
Joe Ann's musical talent touched the lives of all, whether at family get-togethers or while playing in bands. Her musical passion was extended as she taught her children and grandchildren and it forever lives on with love through them. Joe Ann was a talented painter who loved creating beautiful oil paintings that captured the beauty of landscapes. Her love of the Lord was important to her and she loved to share the word of the Lord to those she met. Joe Ann's greatest joy was her family, whether cooking, planning family get-togethers or spending numerous hours and days with her grandkids, she was always
there with a smile, hugs and kisses.
Joe Ann went home to be with the Lord on Thursday June 2, 2016 at the age of 79 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, John 'Ringo' Cooper; husband Carl Edward Keffer and siblings: Vern Cooper, Mary Pauline McCollom, John Henry Cooper, Floyd Jimmy Cooper, Eloise Johnson, Ruby Flanders, Betty Fleming, Rose Gudger and Brice Cooper.
Those left to cherish Joe Ann's memory include her children: Carl (Wendi) Keffer of Grant, Nebraska, Betty Joe Bowen of Lovilia and Aaron Keffer of Williamson; grandchildren: Alicia Brown, Shantina Bowen, James Maggard, Kirk Keffer, Samantha Keffer, Amanda Keffer, Emily Keffer, Madison Keffer and Shea Lynn Laird; great-grandchildren: Riley Dailey, Bradlee Moore, Troy Keffer, Frankie Keffer, Job Fee and Noah Fee; siblings: Verna Rehard, Leonard Rehard, Sonny Cooper, Chuck Cooper, Jackie VanderEcken, Donnie Cooper, Bill Cooper, Snooky Mathis, Diane Graham and Dave Cooper and many other family members and friends.
