Jody Jean Harvey was born July 28, 1963 in Forest City, Iowa the daughter of Eugene Jerome Otis and Ruth Mary (Lloyd) Otis.
Jody was raised in Forest City and graduated from high school there. In July of 1980 Jody was united in marriage to Dale Noftsger. The couple lived in the Forest City area several years, before moving to Pleasantville. The last four years she lived in New Virginia. Through the years Jody was the manager of Howling Hills Canine Campus in Cumming and worked at the Lucas State Office building. for the last seven years, she ran Mel's Diner at the Pleasantville High School where she was loved by both students and faculty. Jody had a passion for growing everything and had a special way with animals and loved them all.
Jody passed away on Monday, November 10, 2014 at home in New Virginia at the age of 51 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Anthony. Those left to celebrate her life include husband Dale, children: Drake (Melanie) Noftsger and their children Skyler, Keaton and Alexis Braun. Derrick (Nicci) Noftsger and their son Hunter. Siblings: Sherri (Delon) Aird of Mason City, Michelle (Joel) Doble of Garner, Julie Eggers of Baxter and many nieces, nephews, special family members and friends.
Jody has been cremated and a Celebration of Her Life will be held on Saturday, November 22 at 1:00 pm at the Pleasantville Memorial Hall. The Celebration welcomes all family and friends to attend. There will be food and drink served, but ask local friends and family to bring a side dish or dessert. For those desiring to make monetary donations, the Jody Harvey Benefit Funds can be made at People's Bank of Pleasantville.
