Jimmy Joe Kendall was born January 10, 1963 in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Jimmie Leroy and Barbara (White) Kendall.
Jimmy was raised in the Marysville, Iowa area. Following high school, Jimmy enlisted in the United States Army where he became a trained in helicopter maintenance. Following the service, Jimmy spent most of his life in the Albia, Iowa area. He worked as a mechanic and a machinist for Henderson’s Implement and Superior Machine. He has lived in Hamilton for the last few years.
In his spare time, Jimmy enjoyed fishing, camping and gardening. He loved taking his granddaughters camping and making smores. After the gardening season was over, the family would have a rotten tomato fight and then jump in Jimmy’s swimming pool to clean up.
Jimmy passed away Thursday, March 6, 2025 at his home, at the age of 62 years.
He was preceded in death by his father and siblings: Jerry Kendall, Scotty Kendall and Venita Williams.
Those left to cherish Jimmy’s memory include his son, Nick (Jessica) Kendall of Albia; granddaughters: Jayden (Terry) Buchanan and Emily (Ethan) Drake; great-grandchildren: Lydia and Brooklynn Buchanan and one more on the way; mother, Barbara Snook of West Plains, Missouri; sister Heather McGuire of West Plains, Missouri; brother, Chad Kendall of Lovilia and many other family members and friends.
Jimmy has been cremated and a memorial service will be announced at a later date. Bybee & Davis Funeral Home is handling arrangements and online condolences may be left at
