Jerry Dale Roff

Jerry Dale Roff was born November 3, 1950 in Knoxville, Iowa the son of Lester Dale and Helen Maxine (Wheeldon) Roff.

Jerry graduated from SE Warren High School in 1969. Jerry worked for Leland McCormick starting at the age of 14. On May 29, 1971 he was united in marriage to Virginia Hayes. The couple made their home in Pleasantville. Jerry then took a job at the John Deere Ankeny Works. He was a punch press operator and following retirement, he worked part time for Leland and Chris McCormick.

Jerry was the “go-to” guy for family and friends when they needed mechanical help. He also built his own trailers and skid loader. He enjoyed and participated in go-kart races and mud races. Jerry was also an outdoorsman and especially liked hunting and camping. He and Virginia rarely missed and old Threshers Reunion in Mt. Pleasant. His greatest joy was family, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and siblings.

Jerry passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at the Knoxville Hospital & Clinics at the age of 72 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to honor Jerry’s memory include his wife, Virginia; son, Joe (Shannon) and their children: Josh, Vince and Chloe; siblings: Pam (Dave) Glick, Carla (Dale) Herold, Phyllis Roff, Roger (Candy) Roff and Darla (Roger) Systma and many other family members and friends.
