James Wesley Kaster
June 19, 1943 — June 16, 2019
James Wesley Kaster was born June 19, 1943 in Knoxville, Iowa the son of William and Armelda (Bacus) Kaster.
He was raised in the Knoxville area and worked on his family’s farm. In October of 1961 at the age of 18, Jim enlisted in the United States Navy. He served his country for six years and was honorably discharged in 1966. Jim lived in San Diego, California most of his life, where he worked as an auto mechanic. On August 13, 1977 he was united in marriage to Judy Samples in Chula Vista, California. The returned to Iowa two years ago and made their home in Pella.
Jim passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at the Comfort House, in Pella, at the age of 75 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Cecil Banks, Jerry Lee Kaster, Paul Kaster and Shirley Balkema.
Those left to honor Jim’s memory include his wife, Judy; children: Becky Bayliss, Lavina Sones, Angela Lopez and Ericka Stark; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings: Pat Kraber, June Peck and Judy MacDonald and a host of other family members and friends.
Jim has been cremated and no services are planned. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date.
