Grace Louise Rodda
November 25, 1937 — April 15, 2023
Grace Louise Rodda was born November 25, 1937, in Pleasantville, Iowa the daughter of Arthur Ivan and Vera (King) Rodda.
She graduated from Pleasantville High School with the Class of 1955. Following high school, Grace enlisted in the United States Navy WAVES. She served her country for 3 years at a Naval Hospital in California. Grace later returned to Iowa and worked for Look Magazine. She spent most of her working career at the United States Postal Office in the sorting hub at the Des Moines, Iowa airport. Grace retired in 1998. In 1999 she moved back to her home of Pleasantville.
In her spare time, Grace enjoyed collecting stamps, reading, and keeping in contact with friends through the Internet. Her greatest joy was her family, and Grace hosted many sleepovers and game nights with her nieces and nephews.
Grace passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the Pleasant Care Nursing Center, in Pleasantville, Iowa, at the age of 85 years.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents, Vera and Glenn Clark, Ivan and Mary Rodda, and her siblings: John Rodda and Geraldine Kain.
Those left to cherish Grace’s memory include her siblings: Alice Sels of Pleasantville and Art (Jean) Rodda of Knoxville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Grace Rodda, age 85 of Pleasantville, will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mason Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Pleasantville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Marion County Humane Society.
