Gloria Lee Jordan Profile Photo
Gloria Lee Jordan was born January 1, 1947, in Lomita, CA, the daughter of Raymond and Margaret Daffron.

She was raised in Lomita and graduated from Narbonne High School in Harbor City, CA and she went on to attend Harbor Junior College in Wilmington, CA. Gloria loved flying her Cessna along the west coast. She joked that she got her pilot license on the first try, while her driver license took a few tries. On July 19, 1968, she was united in marriage to David Jordan. David was in the navy when they met. The couple then moved to Idaho Falls, ID. When David was honorably discharged in 1972, they moved to his native town of Knoxville, Iowa. They raised their four children on the Jordan Family farm. Gloria’s career consisted of homemaker, teller at Iowa State Savings Bank, The Des Moines Register, and as a TSA at the Des Moines International Airport. In their retirement years, Gloria and David enjoyed traveling throughout the west coast where they visited family and friends.

In her spare time, Gloria enjoyed quilting and membership in the Red Hat Society. Above all else, Gloria devoted her life in service to her church family. Whether it was teaching, singing, cleaning, cooking, visiting the elderly, she loved her church family and was always eager to volunteer her time and talents.

Gloria passed away Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Northridge Village, in Ames, Iowa, at the age of 77 years.

In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, David and her brother, Larry Daffron.

Those left to cherish Gloria’s memory include her children: Rebecca Jordan, Dan (wife Dianna) Jordan and their children Craig, Nicholas (wife Myrissa) and their daughter Wren, and Joseph (wife Mickayla); Jason (wife Katie) Jordan and their children Charles and Sarah; Jessica (husband Scott) Michael and their children Aaron, Stephanie, Ian, Brett and Jordan; sister, Linda Schwass (husband Tom).
