Gary L. Neal

Gary Lynn Neal was born September 4, 1963 in Leon, Iowa the son of Edward Eugene Neal and Mary Lou (Doggett) Neal.
As a boy, Gary grew up in Lineville, Iowa and Grant City, Missouri before graduating from high school in Seymour, Iowa in 1982. On April 14, 1984 Gary was united in marriage to Jeanice Ann Johannes. The couple made their home in Knoxville, Iowa and Gary worked in the body shop of Mathias Motors. He eventually took a job with Pella Corp, where he worked over 20 years, first in the glass department and then as a roll former.
In his spare time, Gary enjoyed hunting and fishing and riding his motorcycle. He was especially proud of his association with the Newton American Legion.
Gary passed away Monday, February 8, 2021, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident, at the age of 57 years.
He was preceded in death by his father; wife, Jeanice; brother, Chris and brother-in-law, Wayne White.
Those left to honor Gary’s memory include his children: Tara Jennings (Mike) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Trent Neal of Waukee; grandchildren: Chandler, Shelby and Jaxson; step-grandchildren: Ashley, Addison and Emily; mother, Mary Lou Forsythe of Lineville; siblings: Kitty Gage of Red Oak and Kathy White of Garden Grove and many other family members and friends.
A funeral service for Gary Neal, age 57 of Knoxville, will be held Monday, February 15, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Bybee & Davis Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Zion Cemetery in Pershing, Iowa. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Bybee & Davis Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date.
