Gail Cowden was born December 7, 1932 in Lorimor, Iowa. Her parents were Andrew and Edna (Kaler) Means.
Gail graduated from Lorimor High School and then worked in Des Moines. She was united in marriage to Dolan Cowden and they raised five children: Judy, Craig, Brad, Bobby and Christy. Gail was a homemaker and wife. After the kids were raised Gail worked as a home health caregiver until her retirement.
In her spare time, Gail enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, cooking and baking. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She loved socializing with friends and especially with her family. Gail will be remembered as a loving wife, mother grandmother sister and friend.
Gail passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at her home at the age of 85 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, David Means; son, Bobby Cowden and her former husband, Dolan Cowden.
Those left to cherish Gail’s memory include her children: Judy Weltz, Craig (Shelley) Cowden, Brad (Joni) Cowden and Christy Ekman; brother, Mark Means; 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
A Funeral Service for Gail Cowden, age 85 of Pleasantville, will be held Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at the Mason Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Pleasantville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Webb Shadle Memorial Library or to the Ronald McDonald House.
