Evelyn Marie (Brown) Orwig was born June 30, 1940 in Marion County, Iowa the daughter of John C. and Marie (Todd) Brown.
She graduated from Albia High School in Albia, Iowa. Evelyn was a clerk typist for the Iowa Department of Transportation for 19 years prior to retirement.
Evelyn passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at West Ridge Specialty Care in Knoxville, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John C. Brown and Marie Brown DeTar.
Survivors include her daughter, Gale Hughes and her husband, Paul, of Manhattan, KS; son, Clark Orwig of Iowa City; granddaughter, Diane Hughes and her husband, Thomas Miller of Lawrence, KS; great-granddaughter, Natalie Miller and siblings: Barbara Spaur, Linda Rodman, Bertha Orwig, Carolyn Brewer, Clarence (Bud) Brown, Margaret Clinkenbeard, and Kathleen Jordan.
Evelyn has been cremated and no services are planned at this time.
