Eva Boye Lebeck was born January 16, 1927 in Dedham, Iowa the daughter of Hans and Karen (Hansen) Boye.
Following her high school graduation, Eva was united in marriage to Kenny Lebeck in 1944 at Audubon, Iowa. To this union three children, Sheryl, Laurel and Jeff were born. The couple later divorced at the age of 44 Eva graduated from nursing school in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She worked as an L.P.N. in Mitchellville before moving to Knoxville in 1975. She worked two jobs, at the Knoxville V.A. and Westridge Nursing Home until her retirement.
Eva was an avid bicyclist, riding 3000 miles every year until she was 83 years old. She was also still a licensed driver in Iowa. Eva was an amazing cook and was known for her deserts. She also enjoyed sewing and quilting.
Eva passed away Friday, April 25, 2025 at Homestead Assisted Living, in Knoxville, at the age of 98 years.
In addition to her parents, Eva was preceded in death by siblings: Harold in WWII, Anne, Marie and Hans.
Those left to cherish Eva’s memory include her children: Sheryl McGinnis, Laurel Haynes and Jeff Lebeck; granddaughter, Jenny Green and many other family members and friends.
A memorial service for Eva Lebeck, age 98 of Knoxville, will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Bybee & Davis Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Knoxville Senior Citizens Center.
