Elizabeth "Betty" Moll
March 13, 1942 — January 4, 2025
Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Moll was born March 13, 1942 in Storm Lake, Iowa the daughter of Walter and Mamie (Kacmarynski) Guntren.
Betty was raised in the Storm Lake area and graduated from St. Mary’s High School. Following graduation, Betty attended nursing school at Broadlawns in Des Moines, Iowa. After attaining her Registered Nurse Degree, Betty worked at the V.A. Medical Center in Knoxville, Iowa. She later received her BSN Degree from Buena Vista University. On November 19, 1966 she was united in marriage to Clarence Moll. Betty also worked at the original West Ridge Nursing Home before retiring from the V.A. Never an idle person, Betty began working as a volunteer coordinator the D.H.S. office in Knoxville, before being hired full time as the Central Point Coordinator for Marion County. She retired for the final time in 2014.
In her spare time, Betty served St. Anthony Catholic Church on various committees and boards through the years. She also volunteered at Neighbor Helping Neighbor and Kinship Mentoring Programs.
Betty passed away Saturday, January 4, 2025 at West Ridge Nursing & Rehab Center at the age of 82 years.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; niece, Emily Harper; nephew, Rodney Dannels; sister-in-law Susan Guntren and sister-in-law, Helen and her husband, Robert Dannels.
Those left to cherish Betty’s memory include her sons: David of Des Moines and Michael of Knoxville; siblings: Mary Nicolls, Robert Guntren, Richard (Dodie) Guntren, Raymond (Karen) Guntren and Jeanie (Earl) Harper and many other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Food for the Poor, St. Joseph’s Indian School or to St. Anthony Catholic Church.
