Dwayne Earl Glover was born July 9, 1938 in Knoxville, Iowa the son of John and Pearl (Swayne) Glover.
Dwayne attended Knoxville Schools, where he was active in 4-H, and as a young man he worked on his family’s farm. On March 1, 1980 Dwayne was united in marriage to Joyce Courtney. Most of Dwayne’s working life was spent with his brother, Dwight working at Glover Sanitation. After he retired from Glover Sanitation, Dwayne worked with his sons at Lamberti Concrete and most recently he worked for Creative Landscaping.
In his spare time, Dwayne enjoyed the Knoxville Races, bowling, fishing, and doing handyman work around his home. He especially liked going to the races with the boys and helping on the car. He was an avid sports fan and especially liked watching the Hawkeyes, Bears, Chiefs, Cowboys, Cubs and Celtics. Above everything else, Dwayne loved spending time with his family and friends.
Dwayne passed away Saturday, December 7, 2019 at his home at the age of 81 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce in 1992 and siblings: Evelyn Pidcock, Alberta Rowley, Raymond Glover and Jerry Glover.
Those left to honor Dwayne’s memory include his sons: Adam (Megan) of Knoxville and Curtis (Shauna) of Runnells; grandchildren: Zander and Kimber Glover and Jaeyln, Lainey, Henley, Hayden, Payton and Embry Glover; his brother, Dwight (Teresa) Glover of Knoxville and many other family members and friends.
A Funeral service for Dwayne Glover, age 81 of Knoxville, will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Bybee & Davis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
