Doris Lavon Krichau was born May 12, 1932 in Patterson, Iowa the daughter of Leo and Mildred (Hegwood) Pace.
She was raised in the Patterson area and graduated from high school there. On January 12, 1952 she was united in marriage to Palmer L. Krichau. The couple farmed until the construction of Lake Red Rock took their land. Through the years, Doris had worked at the Maple Buffet, Lil’ Duffer and the Pleasantville Country Club. She also owned and operated a dress store in Knoxville, The Style Shop. In 2007 Doris and Palmer moved from their home in the country into Knoxville. Palmer passed away on November 25, 2012.
In her spare time, Doris enjoyed needlework and making crafts; and every project was perfect down to the minutest detail. She also golfed, bowled and she and Palmer loved to camp. Doris and Palmer also liked to square dance and had won awards at various dance competitions.
Doris passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at the Comfort House, in Pella at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 30 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Those left to cherish Doris’ memory include her daughters: Patty McDonald (Tony) of Pleasantville, Pam Hansen (Brian) of Longmont, CO and Peggy Danielson of Des Moines, 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
