Donna (Calhoun) Maddy of Lovilia, Iowa passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021.
Donna was born July 3, 1945 in Swan, Iowa to Lloyd and Cleo (Raney) Calhoun. The third of four children and the only daughter.
Donna was a graduate of the Pleasantville High School Class of 1963. After graduation, she married Robert E. Bender in December of 1963. To this union 3 daughters and a stillborn son were born. Donna and Robert later divorced. In 1975 she married Charles Maddy of Lovilia.
Donna worked many years at the V.A. in Knoxville and also farmed alongside Charles. She loved baling big round bales of hay, and fishing in Cedar creek while waiting for the hay to dry. She was a good cook and an avid gambler.
Donna was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie at birth; her parents, Lloyd and Cleo; two brothers: Bobby and James and her husband, Charles.
Donna is survived by her daughters: Crystal (Craig) Brady of Albia, Jolene (Joel) Hackett of Bussey and Candis (Roger) Roff of rural Knoxville; nine grandchildren: Nicholas (Katie) Hackett, Jessica (Tyler) Brady, Sharla (Jared) Johnson, Clayton (Jessica) Brady, Aaron (Cede) Hackett, Tony (Rachel) Bender, Matthew Brady, George (Riley) Brady and Megan (Cameron) Brady and 12 great-grandchildren.
There is no memorial or service planned at Donna’s request. However, condolences should be sent to her devoted daughter, Crystal who cared for Donna until the end.
