Funeral services for Donna Kay Beal age 69 of Tracy will be held on Saturday, June 14 at the Bybee & Davis Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery. Donna Kay Beal was born April 16, 1945 in Knoxville, Iowa the daughter of Oramel and Paula (Courtney) Pottorff.
She was raised in Bussey and graduated from Twin Cedars High School with the Class of 1963. On June 20, 1963 Donna was united in marriage to William Eugene Beal, Jr. at the United Methodist Church in Bussey. To this union four children were born: Teresa, James, Jeni and Lisa. The couple made their home in Tracy. Donna was a stay at home mother and always raised a large garden. From 1985 to 2007, Donna was the cook and cashier at the Tracy General Store.
In her spare time, Donna enjoyed quilting, gardening and traveling. She also enjoyed making meals for family gatherings. She cherished her children, grandchildren and siblings.
Donna passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at her home at the age of 69 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William and brother, Orval “Pete” Pottorff.
Those left to honor her memory include her children: Teresa (Rick) Heck of Pleasantville, James (Gina) Beal of Knoxville, Jeni (Jason) VanHouten of Blackwell, Missouri and Lisa (Todd) Lindsey of Ankeny; 9 grandchildren: Mindy Heck (Aaron Foelske), Richard (Stephanie) Heck, Jennifer Heck, Krystal VanHouten, Cheyenne VanHouten, Jordan Beal, Jessica Beal, Jamie Beal and Ryne Lindsey; 7 great-grandchildren: Adrianna Foelske, Savanna Foelske, Aaron Foelske, Jr., Colton Foelske, Abby Foelske, Makenzie Heck and Brooklynn Heck; siblings: Betty VanderVeer of Harvey, Linda Kraber of Eddyville and JoAnn Clark of Bussey and many other family members and friends.
