Dino Piagentini was born November 27, 1929 in Pershing, Iowa the son of Amos and Mary (Lunardi) Piagentini.
Dino was raised in Pershing and graduated from Attica High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge, Dino returned to Pershing. On November 10, 1957 he was united in marriage to Donna Maree Hanchett. Dino worked at the Knoxville V.A. Hospital in plumbing and heating. He retired after 29 years of service.
Dino was a talented baseball player and was on the Belinda team for many years. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and attending his grandkid’s sporting events. He was a member of the Baty-Tucker American Legion Post No. 168.
Dino passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025 at the Comfort House, in Pella, at the age of 95 years.
In addition to his parents, Dino was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; son, Dennis and three siblings: Rosie, Joe and Sam.
Those left to honor Dino’s memory include his children: Dean Piagentini of Pershing, Dawn (Brad) Mardis of West Des Moines and Dyan (Jerry) Parker of Bussey; daughter-in-law, Mary Piagentini; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
