Dennis Samuel Piagentini was born July 6, 1958 at Lutheran Hospital, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Dino and Donna Maree (Hanchett) Piagentini.
He was raised in the Pershing, Iowa area and attended St. Anthony Catholic School in Knoxville through 6th grade. Dennis graduated from Twin Cedars High School and then attended Southwestern Community College, earning a degree in electronics. Following graduation, Dennis worked as an electrician for the Knoxville V.A. Medical Center. On July 8, 1995 he was united in marriage to Mary Katherine Wilson in Hamilton, Iowa. In 2015 he retired from the V.A.
In his spare time, Dennis enjoyed being a handyman and fixing things for friends and family. He also liked taking daily walks and keeping up with friends on multiple Pokémon Go accounts. Diesel (Bucket Dog) was his constant companion and friend. Dennis’ greatest joy was his family and he especially loved watching Elli play softball.
Dennis passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at his home at the age of 63 years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna; mother-in-law, Martha Wilson and his pet, Diesel.
Those left to cherish Dennis’ memory include his wife, Mary; children: Zac and Hannah Wright of Indianola, Tyson and Alisa Wright of Knoxville, Holli Piagentini and fiancée Jeremy Bos of Des Moines, Sam and Hunter Piagentini of Pleasantville and Carter Piagentini of Knoxville; grandchildren: ElliAnna Mason and Ewan Wright; father, Dino Piagentini of Hamilton; siblings: Dean Piagentini of Pershing, Dawn and Brad Mardis of West Des Moines and Dyan and Jerry Parker of Bussey and many other family members and friends.
