David James Weeks

David James Weeks was born December 13, 2006 in Pella, Iowa the son of Jeff and Tiffany (Wales) Weeks.
David has attended Twin Cedars Schools and is currently a sophomore. Even though David was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 10 he loved to laugh and make people smile. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, especially football. He loved being in nature, especially riding horses and attending Rodeos. Texas Brownies, Dr. Pepper and smoked meatloaf always brought a smile to David’s face. His positive attitude and courage were an inspiration to his family, friends, teachers and classmates.
David passed away Monday, April 24, 2023 at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics at the age of 16 years.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: David Weeks, John Wales and John Cooper.
Those left to honor David’s spirit include his parents: Tiffany Wilson and Jeff Weeks; siblings: Elizabeth, Cullen and Allisson Weeks; grandparents: Rick and Bonnie Bartell, Barbara Ornelas and Alice Wales; aunts and uncles: Jennifer (Russ) Darland, Steven Wales, Dustin Vancenbrock, Christy Weeks and Robert Weeks and many other family members and friends.
A funeral service for David Weeks, age 16 of Pershing, will be held Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at the Twin Cedars School in Bussey, Iowa. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Bybee & Davis Funeral Home in Knoxville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to David’s family.
