David Lynn Meyer
September 9, 1951 — July 17, 2023
David Lynn Meyer was born September 9, 1951 in Iowa Falls, Iowa the son of George “Shorty” and Marilyn Joan (Blackmoorew) Meyer.
He was raised in the Iowa Falls area, and as a young man Dave went to trade school. He became a professional concrete contractor. David paved highways all over the Midwest along with other types of flat work. In 1996 he took a job at the Hy-Vee Chariton Distribution Center, retiring after 17 years.
Dave was happiest outdoors, whether he was fishing or just enjoying the nature and birds and animals. He raised and raced pigeons as a hobby. He was also an avid reader.
David passed away Monday, July 17, 2023 at his home, in Knoxville, at the age of 71 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to cherish David’s memory include his children: Chris Maine, Angie Meyer, Michelle Romic, Justin Meyer and Cole Meyer; many grand and great-grandchildren; siblings: Roxi Stone, Tammy Last and Mike (Mark) Meyer along with many other family members and friends.
A Memorial Visitation for David Meyer, age 71 of Knoxville, will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Bybee & Davis Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date.
