Darrell Lee Forst was born September 14, 1942 in Pleasantville, Iowa the son of Thomas Guy Forst and Ona Priscilla (Cribb) Forst.
Darrell was raised in Pleasantville and graduated with the Pleasantville High School Class of 1960. As a young man, Darrell worked on his family’s farm raising dairy cows. He then worked for Central National Bank, in Des Moines, as an Assistant Supervisor to the proof department. Darrell then worked for the Associated Grocers of Iowa warehouse until moving to Arizona in 1984. In Arizona, he worked for Bayless and Fleming Foods warehouse until his retirement.
Darrell always enjoyed attending the Iowa State Fair with his children and family. He loved cars and owned many sports cars through the years, he currently owned a Dodge Challenger and a Ford Mustang. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Darrell passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 in Sun City, Arizona at the age of 74 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Nadine Bachman and Marilyn McDonald and his daughter, Deborah Rupprecht.
Those left to honor Darrell’s memory include his daughter, Julie (James) Duff of Rochester, Minnesota; son-in-law, Thomas Rupprecht of West Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren: Ted and Emma Duff and Sidney and Maxwell Rupprecht; brother, Donald (Carol) Forst of Phoenix, Arizona and many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
A memorial service for Darrell Forst, age 74 of Sun City, Arizona and formerly of Pleasantville, will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the Mason Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Pleasantville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
